First Day of the Rest of Our Lives

Today was my first day with Mense Churchwell and Mense - a local CPA firm. Friday was my last day with BKD. I made this move so that we could have more flexibility in the future.

For those we have not yet told, we were added to a church-based team with 3 other families from College Heights Christian Church in Joplin, MO. In March of 2010, we will head to eastern Africa to a region that the church is interested in. We will be researching the area, learning the language and culture and discipling local pastors. Our research will hopefully lead us to focus on at least one unreached, unengaged people group for the kingdom of Christ. After learning the language, it is our hopes that we will be able to begin to establish a church planting movement in the that region of Africa that is war-torn and mostly Muslim. PLEASE PRAY FOR US!

Please email me at anthonygeiser@yahoo.com if you would like more information about our plans. We'll add you to our newsletter list!

So, we have about 3 months of training during the next year. This is what necessitated a move from the larger firm of BKD to the smaller firm of Mense Churchwell and Mense. MCM is willing to let me have the unpaid leave that we need in order to travel for training and fundraising. We are in the very beginning of our preparation for the field. We need your prayers. We have a house to sell, cars to sells, all possessions to sell, wills to complete, forwarding agents to find, funds to raise, prayer warriors to partner with, churches to visit... oh, a job to do. Due to the unpaid nature of my time off, I will be working substantial hours with MCM in order to pay for the time that I will be off work. Please pray that God gives me strength to do what He has for us to do.

Christy's watching a Beth Moore DVD as I write this. One quote that I overheard I will share with you now. "Self preservation often keeps us from our calling". God has called us to a life of faith. We are learning what it means to do those things which are hard for us, but easy for God. It was difficult for me to leave what I know (BKD) to go to what I do not know (MCM). But God knows both what I'm leaving and what I'm going to. Africa is definitely an unknown for Christy and I, but God has called us to be brave in Him. Not to be full of fear, but to be full of courage based in our trust in Him. Be encouraged today! God is on the move. He is moving today in the world and in the hearts of men. Blessings to you today!
